What is the difference between copywriting and content writing?

Many people cannot work this out.

Copywriting is the art of writing to sell or promote a business and it requires a great deal of crafting style and words to persuade consumers to purchase. Copywriting is about mastering the product/service’s features with the benefits that this can bring to a specific audience that needs or wish to have this product/service.

However, in an increasingly complex and saturated market, the traditional advert is no longer sufficient to maintain your position. Nowadays it requires you to stay on top of everyone by engaging with your audience through social media and keep on feeding them with compelling and informative content, and this is the distinction between content writing and copywriting.

To maintain the attention and the interest of the audience and also to attract new prospects, it is crucial you must enrich your public with content that is strategically written to build up a desire for this service or to highlight the benefits of it so that when a new version of the product or a new service or any improvement is made, you have an audience already educated to appreciate the benefits that the product/service can bring to their life.

In practical terms, content strategies and content writing are, for instance, blog posts, articles, reviews are written specifically to highlight features or to talk about issues and solutions.  Content writing is, therefore all the written material to educate the audience, giving them reasons to welcome products or services that are the answers or the solutions to issues, problems but also desires and needs.

You have an amazing product or service which could change the life of your consumer for the better and my strategy would be to position your business firmly in your market by writing material that engages with your audience, trigger curiosity, interest and persuading your prospects to buy from you by giving them an irresistible offer.
